So since the dawn of time.. Well perhaps since the dawn of the late 90’s, the console versus PC debate/debacle has raged on many a forum and newsgroup. It’s usually never a worth while argument. The general anonymity of the interweb turns civil discourse into the kind of public display that normally adorns bathroom walls in truck stops, and makes you fairly certain humanity is doomed. Having said that, i happened upon a seemingly unbiased piece that goes into the economics of the debate.
The battle we have been anticipating is heating up. This isn’t the battle between the Xbox, Playstation, and Wii, nor is it the battle between Voodoo, Alienware, Dell, Gateway, and HP; it is the battle between PCs and game consoles. Sony’s Playstation still owns the market with PS2 sales setting the benchmark, but this is an old product, and the new PS3 has created more red ink for the company than most companies could handle and survive.
I say seemingly because its not only somewhat biased (toward PC), but somewhere in the middle it turns into a press release for Dell’s new XPS 720 H2O Edition. While its a nice machine, i wouldn’t site a particular OEM like Dell when asked to compare PCs and Consoles. Other than that it’s an informative read and theres some nice PS3 bashing. Who can resist that right? Here’s the Full Article.
Oh yeah for the record, PC PWNZ joor stoopid Consol3…

Kevin Says:The notion of Dell being a gaming PC is laughable. Hard core gamers like to build their own PC’s, and those who don’t build them usually buy from one of the custom gaming PC manufacturers - like Northwest Falcon, or Alienware.
Oh wait, that’s why Dell bought Alienware, because they had a hard time convincing gamers to buy their machines.
Aside from that, this guy makes some good sense in article, particularly the analogy between the Walkman vs the iPod. Sony has proven to be hard headed in the past, so it really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that they are so arrogant about the PS3 … although, maybe it is a big surprise, because you’d think they would have learned their lesson the first time around.
