    Jackass

Much like the movie industry, the video game industry seems to have a neverending glut of horrible ideas. Today, we receive the news that they have once again joined forces and are getting ready to unleash their latest grotesque creation upon us.

This September, Red Mile Entertainment and MTV Games will be releasing Jackass: The Video Game.

I enjoy a periodic episode of Jackass just as much as the next guy, but I’m having a hard time imagining what kind of gameplay this game could possibly be centered around, and how it could be fun. The description from a Red Mile executive isn’t exactly helping.

Said Henry Price, senior director sales and marketing at Red Mile: “The premise for the games is to have the player create their own ‘Jackass’ episodes across an array of stunts. These stunts are set up like minigames, which provides a great deal of diversity in the gameplay.”

Johnny Knoxville and crew appear to be excited for the game, so there may be some potential for fun moments (or a nice paycheck for licensing). Until the game comes out, and I can see for myself, I’m going to remain skeptical on this one.
