All-Pro Football 2K8: Legendary?

IGN has some screenshots of the latest 2K Sports attempt to dethrone Madden. All-Pro Football 2K8 is filled with legends of the game. (By the way, how short-sighted was the idea to name your Franchise after a terrible millenium abbreviation? 2K8? Is this a year, or R2D2’s cousin with a bad motivator?) Anyway, it looks pretty sharp, but a few questions arise. I don’t doubt the coolness of the dream team in the above photo. Especially since Madden has always lacked Legends in their games, taking the fun out of playing with a team from an earlier era, since you had to remember what all the player’s damn numbers were. But the game seems a little gimmicky. Without the NFL license, you’ve just got a bunch of old players. Why not dust off your old copy of Tecmo Bowl instead? And what is up with this picture?
2K Sports has enough problems competing with Madden, they have to add gigantic falcons to the mix?? Is this thing attacking the players? Can I control the falcon? Sign him to a contract? Have him start a dog-fighting league from his house? If the answer to all of these is yes, then count me in.

That photo is THE MOST AWESOME stadium design i have EVAR seen. I’m glad 2K Sports is picking football back up. Competition is good. EA is evil, EVVVvvvvil.
Kevin Says:I hope this game does well. I’ve hated EA ever since they realized they couldn’t compete with 2K Sports, and just bought off the NFL as a result.
Adding summoned animals might be the only thing that could help my game. I still throw a football like George the Animal Steel btw.
