Sony Launches Official Playstation Blog

Sony loves you. They love you so much, they’ve created an official Playstation blog where you can now get the latest Playstation news and developments straight from the horse’s mouth. Aside from the inevitable arguments between fanboys and haters, Sony describes their blog in the following way:
At the moment, we’re thinking about sharing all sorts of things here, ranging from product news and title announcements to developer updates and industry opinion posts – all of which will come straight from the people here inside SCEA who are working, thinking and playing with this stuff everyday. Look to the categories on the sidebar for some initial thoughts we have on future post themes.
Now, what we’ve learned, perhaps the hard way, is that a blog like this is really about you and the things you want to hear, share and discuss with us. With that in mind, you’ll notice that comments are enabled – and encouraged – so tell us what you want to see here and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
We imagine it may take us a short while to find our pace with this, but bear with us as we get underway and we promise we’ll quickly make this blog a valuable stop in your daily info hunt for PlayStation news.
I gotta give Sony credit for doing something like this. Nothing can substitute a direct source such as a blog - where there’s no overly-wordy press releases, and other garbage to clog up the communication lines between Sony and their customers. In fact, I’d like to see more companies offer blogs where they keep their fans up to date, and allow some type of direct feedback between their customers.
Just think of the good uses this could have all over the industry if more companies would do this - Super Man for N64 could have been prevented, Nintendo could pull countless new suggestions of gem names for future Pokemon games, and Nokia might have gotten a clue that the N-Gage was a bad idea BEFORE they invested hundreds of millions of dollars trying to develop and market it.
