Sony executives must be breathing sighs of relief — the sales numbers for May are in, and are painting a much prettier picture for the PS3 than we’ve been accustomed to seeing.
After a bit of a rough patch, during the month of May, the PS3 has outsold the GameBoy Advance. Not only did it outsell the GBA, but it outsold the GBA by 1,000 units.
Way to go, Sony. Hang in there.

The breakdown:
- Nintendo DS - 423,100
- Nintendo Wii - 338,000
- PSP - 221,120
- PS2 - 187,765
- XBOX360 - 154,900
- PS3 - 81,604
- GameBoy Advance - 80,554
- Nintendo GameCube - 10,728

Kevin Says:You know what’s equally embarrassing is that the PS2 outsold the 360.
Yeah the PS2 has been outselling the 360 since it launched. Its the price point and all the games you can get. 360 and HD gaming is still pretty bleeding edge for the general public.
Wow PS3 caught up to the GBA, strange, I never saw that coming.
