Diablo: The Movie

Over on BlizzPlanet, they have revealed that Legendary Pictures (the same people who brought you 300, and are also working on a World of Warcraft film) is now listing “Diablo” in the “Under Development” section. Considering the lore behind Diablo, and the multiple novels that have been written in the Diablo universe, a movie seems like a no-brainer.
This comes on the heels of a rumor that Gary Whitta was working on a screenplay for a Diablo movie. It’s interesting to note that these rumors have started to surface just a few weeks before E3, and a couple months before BlizzCon. Could it be that Blizzard has more up it’s sleeve than just a playable demo of StarCraft II for this year’s BlizzCon? Say … a Diablo 3 announcement, with a movie thrown in for marketing purposes? Damnit! I knew I should have bought tickets before they sold out.
