Some smart fellas at East Carolina University’s Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies spent the last six months doing electroencephalography (say that 10 times fast) and other fancy stuff to find that playing casual games are good for your health!

“..these exciting results confirm anecdotal evidence that people are playing casual video games to improve their mood and decrease their stress, and herald casual games potential in health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment of stress and mood-related disorders.”

Now this is just for casual gaming, so if you play WoW for 72hrs straight in a dingy game cafe you still might drop dead. But the next time someone hassles you for playing a game, you can tell them you’re improving your mood, vigor, relieving stress and it’s scientifically proven!
